The MLPNA Annual Convention will be held on April 20 - 22, 2010 at the Holiday Inn Alexandria, 5637 Hwy 29 South, Alexandria MN 56308.
By action of the Council 65 Executive Board, the regular Annual Meeting of Minnesota Council 65, American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO, will be held at the Holiday Inn, Mankato, Minnesota, at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2009 and will convene again at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2009, and will continue in session until the business of the meeting is completed. Registration of delegates will be held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:55 a.m.
Reservations for the Holiday Inn in Mankato can be made by calling the following number: toll free at 1-877-345-5577. Be sure to ask for the AFSCME Council 65 block. Reservations should be made as soon as possible.
Again this year we are planning a number of workshops on important issues and problems, which will be held on Friday, October 9th. We will send out a schedule of the workshops in the near future. There will be a banquet/reception for the delegates from 7:00 p.m. to ? on Friday evening. Check our website for updates and info at www.afscmecouncil65.org.
Included in the business to come before the convention will be the election of Vice President, Treasurer, and one (1) executive board position to fill the remainder of vacated District 4 position (1 year), and one trustee position for a three-year term. Also, included in the business to come before the convention will be the election of one Council delegate to the 2010 International convention in Boston and the election of fifteen (15) people who will receive $1200.00 to attend the 2010 International Convention in Boston during the week of June 27 - July 2, 2010. Those persons elected to receive the $1200.00 International Convention allowance must become a properly elected delegate to the International Convention from their own local to receive the allowance. Nominations for officers, executive board member, International Convention delegate, fifteen (15) people to receive the convention allowance, and trustee shall take place on Friday, October 9th, with voting to be conducted from 9:15 – 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10th.
